Alberta Whitetail Deer Hunting. Whitetail Deer Hunts with James A. Smith, Alberta Canada Whitetail Deer Hunting Outfitters

Alberta Whitetail Deer Hunting
Our whitetail hunts have been expanded into one of the premium trophy whitetail hunting zones in the North Peace River Region of Alberta, With exclusive hunting rights for non-resident hunters, over 1600 square miles of land to hunt, and limited hunting pressure, we have incredible whitetail deer hunting in the years to come!

Northern Alberta Whitetail Deer Hunts
In the past this zone has only had very limited opportunity for hunters outside of the province, producing some impressive bucks. In 2008 there were 2 bucks taken over 190 inches, and previous to this there was a buck taken from this zone that scored 208 inches.

We offer archery whitetail deer hunts from late August through mid September and rifle whitetail deer hunts from mid September through the end of November. These whitetail hunts will be mainly stand hunting with the use of some ground blinds. We will use heated stands for the rifle hunts during the rut in late October and November.

The whitetail hunting area is sparsely populated with large farms spread throughout the zone. There are plenty of woods around the farms. It truly is ideal habitat for deer, with good vegetation on the hay and grain fields to feed on, and the cover of poplars, willows and spruce bogs to live in. The Peace River runs the full length of the zone along with another smaller river running through part of it. Most of the whitetail deer hunting area is surrounded by the boreal forest, because of this we have a fairly heavy concentration of deer coming into the zone to live. The deer do not have to live with the hunting pressure that whitetails do in many other parts of Alberta. They have the opportunity to grow up and mature into large heavy trophy class bucks.

Accommodations for the archery hunts will be either a comfortable tent camp with home cooked meals or we will stay in a motel. Our rifle hunters will stay in a motel and we will look after meals and lodging while you are on the hunt.

Southern Alberta Whitetail Deer Combo Hunts
If you are interested in a combo hunt with either a moose or a mule deer our Southern area hunts may be what you are looking for. This zone is in a mixed farming area with about half of it being hay and grain land and a number of creeks and small streams. The balance of the area is aspen, spruce, willow and low land. This area is in the foothills of South Central Alberta, we are about 50 miles east of the Rocky Mountains, and it is a very scenic game rich area. We have a healthy population of both whitetail deer and mule deer. There are a lot of second growth alfalfa and grain fields for the deer to feed in, most are close to bush providing good cover for the deer. Taking a white tail buck in the 150 inch class is very possible; we have taken some into the 160’s. There was a buck taken in the high 170’s in this zone this past fall. Most of the hunting in this zone is done on private land, we own quite a bit, and have access on many other good parcels.

Once you have been hunting with us, you will know why our hunters continue to return year after year. We offer excellent whitetail deer hunting opportunities. We have professional guides, excellent staff, comfortable accommodations and premium whitetail hunting areas with trophy size deer!
